Back in December, we highlighted STEM Renegade Mess Wright as one of Modern Muses. She was in the midst of piloting her technology camp programs called Renegades of Code. Last week, we had the pleasure of joining Mess at the official grand opening of her newly reinvented Mess Labs science lab, tinker space and code studio!
If you remember Mess’ story, she had started the highly popular The Lab in 2010 to the delight of moms and kids who wanted a more exciting and stimulating weekend activity than the normal pizza joints and arcades. A setback stopped Mess’ dream short…but not for long.
Over the past six months, Mess and her growing team have built something really special. We can’t help but share the success of her dream coming to life as we watched grand opening visitors, adults and kids alike, explore, discover and just have fun. Her story and journey speak to the resilience of women who have a vision and use their special gifts and life experiences to realize the singular impact they can make on the world. It’s why we continue to highlight her as a Modern Muse!
“…we are all better off when we support the women close to us.” Mess couldn’t have been more right when she shared this pearl of wisdom with us in our last interview, and we hope that in our own way, our support will continue to help her make an impact on kids and families.
