#ModernMuse: Child Advocate Susan White
This week’s #ModernMuse Susan White has a tough job: talking with children who have experienced sexual or physical abuse, drug-endangered children and children who have witnessed domestic violence or a violent crime and gather details about what happened to them during an investigation. (CACCC) in New Braunfels, Texas, she and her team work with local law enforcement, Child Protective Services (CPS) and the District Attorney’s office to provide a safe place for kids to share what happened to them in a non-intimidating and less traumatizing environment. #ModernMuse: Gendercide Activist Beverly Hill
Every day, we read about world issues that deserve our attention. They may seem so far from us in both scope and distance. We may wish we could do something about them but never sure what or how to help. One woman Beverly Hill, based in Dallas, Texas, took up that challenge for a large world problem that had little support when it first caught her attention: gendercide. Through the busy years of being a mom, she learned all she could about gendercide, vowing one day to make the kind of impact on the issue that would make a true difference and bring as much awareness to it as possible. When she finally had the opportunity to, she made good on her word and founded the Gendercide Awareness Project.
